Social capital and Corruption

A lot of effort is put into combating corruption in the developed world, while developing economies are lagging behind. However, without eliminating corruption, some countries have made significant progress in key socioeconomic areas; this raises the question of whether or not corruption is actually a blessing for emerging economies. The goal of this project is to dissect the link between corruption and social capital by looking at case studies in third-world countries.

Interculturalism & Integration 

Learning the language(s) of the receiving and giving societies is a common requirement for integration. Learning a new language, however, is challenging and expensive and calls for a well-established intercultural teaching and learning structure. The purpose of this project is to evaluate factors such as teachers' levels of intercultural knowledge and skill, as well as their levels of motivation and the quality of the intercultural learning environment they work in.

Labour Market Integration

Migrant inclusion and their impact on the labor market are critical components of ensuring their effective integration into host countries. There is an ongoing discussion on whether or not migrant workers are a net positive for their host countries, adding to the difficulty of integrating them into society. Ethno-economics & livelihood diversification 

The aim of the project is to investigate and explore engaging case of tourism focusing on livelihood diversification in rural areas through the lens of ethno-economics.
